PHARM Connect Congress

PHARM Connect Congress is the largest and most important pharmaceutical and biotechnology business summit in the Central Eastern European and the CIS region, taking place annually in February, in Budapest, Hungary.

Since the event’s launch in 2011, the number of participants has reached more than 500 from over 20 countries in the region and beyond. Over the two days of the congress leading service providers of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector – covering a wide range of profiles from API’s and contract manufacturing to processing, biopharma solutions, biopharmaceuticals and biologicals, drug delivery systems, clean rooms, laboratory equipment, monitoring & inspection systems, quality control, packaging and labelling, automation, plant engineering and maintenance, logistics, cold chain storage and distribution, warehousing and many others – have the opportunity to meet the key decision makers of their targeted companies.

Strictly operating on an invitation only basis guarantees that the highest level of delegation is present. Each solution provider at PHARM Connect is selected based on requirements and interests provided by attending pharmaceutical professionals prior to the event.

Most up-to-date market insights

In order to ensure the quality of the conference programme, we work closely together with leading local and regional associations, European and global media partners and our Programme Advisory Committee, whose members are well-known pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry experts of leading international companies. The conference programme offers the most up-to-date market insights into research and development, production, engineering, supply chain and quality management related topics.

Pre-scheduled business meetings

Over the two days, service providers will have the opportunity to meet with leading directors and industry experts through a series of pre-arranged one-to-one business meetings and several informal networking activities, maximising business efficiency, presenting a unique opportunity to develop meaningful and valuable business relationships.

The event also offers an exclusive opportunity to take part in specially organised plant visits to major pharmaceutical manufacturing centres in the region, all arranged prior to the event via our Meeting Scheduler.

Five star venue

The best business is always achieved in the most excellent environment; this is why we organise the event in the luxurious five-star Corinthia Grand Hotel in central Budapest.

One-to-One interview with Terry Siggins, GE IP

ABB with Gedeon Richter as well as SANOFI received the 1st ever Central Eastern European Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Excellence Award in 2015

TEG with the support of the Hungarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (MAGYOSZ) handed out the 1st ever Central Eastern European Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Excellence Award in 2015 to honour, recognise and promote outstanding manufacturing excellence solutions in the rapidly growing region of CEE. The award was handed out at the award ceremony at the PHARM Connect Congress 2015 in Budapest.

The 1st Central Eastern European Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Excellence Award ceremony together with the cocktail reception was opened by István Király, Managing Director at GSK Biologicals who announced the winners and handed out the award to ABB and SANOFI, emphasising that these tried methods will encourage professionals to constantly raise standards and come up with outstanding manufacturing excellence solutions, to further contribute to the development of the rapidly growing CEE region.

Applications were evaluated by an independent jury, by their level of cost-effectiveness, quality, service and innovation. The projects had to be accomplished in any of the countries in the CEE region in one of the two categories: innovative and generic pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers in the first one, while service providers with a customer project in the second.

SANOFI, the winner in the manufacturer category, was selected because the team went beyond its boundaries, took a holistic view and was brave enough to challenge the existing status quo. SANOFI clearly demonstrated an excellent customer - supplier relationship by understanding the needs of their customers. This approach clearly yielded several benefits such as cost saving of 35%, gaining new activities and saving jobs.

ABB together with its customer Gedeon Richter won in the solution provider category. ABB was selected because they went beyond Gedeon Richter’s original requirements and provided solutions that helped to improve process robustness, maintain education level of the employees and most of all reduced potential human errors. It required more than just providing automation solutions but it meant understanding the process, understanding the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, especially biotech and understanding cGMP and its new trends. This again just like in case of SANOFI requires excellent customer focus.
