Hungarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association

The Association has been established in 1990. Its structure follows that of similar European organizations. The founders established the Association with the aim to conciliate their interests and represent their common or majority standpoint before the authorities especially during the development of the laws and decrees. The membership is voluntary.

Among the experts’ forums of the Association the Pricing and Reimbursement Committee has the greatest share of activity. During the EU harmonization the main topics were as follows: intellectual property rights, environment protection and safety technics. The Employers Committee prepares the collective agreement of the branch every year.

From the very beginning the Association puts great emphasis on education and organizes educational programs. In addition, it helps potencial commercial and cooperation partners to introduce themselves to the representatives of the member companies.  

Czech Bio

CzechBio is a national association of Czech biotechnology companies which was established in December 2008. The rapidly growing association of companies, renewed research institutions, and universities operating in the Czech Republic has consistently created a common platform for 30 members active in the all areas of the biotech industry including healthcare, agriculture and industrial biotech. CzechBio is closely cooperating with foreign counterparts such as the Council of European BioRegions, EuropaBio or Hungarian Biotechnology Association. Furthermore, the association is preparing a series of educational courses for its members under the trademark of ‘CzechBio Academy’ and offering a lease of a jointly acquired chromatographic system that will enable partners to produce more advanced laboratory substances.  The member companies are also actively working on entering foreign markets by creating a CzechBio export alliance and participating at number of well-established events around the world.

HUNGARIAN BIOTECH ASSOCIATION (HBA)

The Hungarian Biotechnology Association (HBA) was established by Hungary’s leading life science companies in 2003. The main objective of the organization is to create an alliance that unites the voices and interests of companies, researchers, academic institutions and related organizations to provide them with shared services, advocacy and to help them find success and opportunities in the field of life sciences. HBA regards the representation of Hungary’s biotechnology sector as its most important activity. Furthermore, the association’s goals include winning governmental support for the biotechnology sector; in order to reach this, the organization prepares documents and carries out harmonized lobbying activities. HBA is also a member of various international biotechnological organizations such as EuropaBio, the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the European Federation of Biotechnology.

GS1

GS1 is a neutral, non-profit organisation dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility in supply chains. GS1 Healthcare is a global, voluntary, healthcare user group developing global standards for the healthcare supply chain and advancing global harmonisation. GS1 Healthcare consists of participants from all stakeholders of the healthcare supply chain: manufacturers, wholesalers & distributors, hospitals and pharmacy retailers, regulatory agencies and trade organizations.

Polish Federation of Biotechnology (PFB)

The Polish Federation of Biotechnology (PFB) is an independent, non-profit organization and was established by a group of biotechnologists in 2004. Our mission is the promotion of the development of Polish biotechnology and the popularisation of innovative biotechnology within society. The PFB supports the beneficial use of life sciences at the cutting edge of biotechnology. We provide a forum for discussions on interdisciplinary cooperation. We do our best to improve education and knowledge of molecular background of modern biotechnology and we facilitate dialogues between scientists and the lay people. Further we support scientific sessions and workshops.
